What it measures
- Download speed — how fast data comes from the internet to your device (what matters most for streaming, downloading files, browsing)

- Ping (latency) — the delay between your device and the test server, measured in milliseconds; lower is better, especially for gaming and video calls
How it works
Click start, and the tool sends and receives small bursts of data to a nearby test server, measuring how long each transfer takes. The result reflects your real-world connection speed at that moment, which can vary based on network congestion and how many devices are sharing your Wi-Fi. Why you'd run this test
- Confirm your ISP is delivering the speed you're paying for — run the test a few times across the day and compare against your plan's advertised speed.

A note on accuracy
Results can shift depending on current network load, your device's connection type, and other active devices on your network. If your connection seems fine but a specific site is still slow to load, the issue may be on the site's end — run it through our Server Status Checker to see if the server itself is responding slowly.
